Kendall responded to the report of a serious MVA involving a tractor trailer t-bone collision with another truck and possibly a third
car involved. Upon arrival Kendall Chief Kludt confirmed a serious MVA and requested Mercy Flight to the scene and Fire Police
from Kendall , Hulberton, and Carlton to shut down all traffic on Rt 18 and West Kendall Rd. He also requested a second rescue
out of Morton for speedy dry to contain a hydraulic oil leak. A second ambulance from Holley was requested for the driver of the
tractor trailer who was transported to Medina Memorial Hospital. Kendall's Ambulance, a by standing surgical nurse on scene, and
Monroe ALS treated the driver of the roll-off truck who was transported to Strong Hospital via Mercy Flight with severe trauma. The
driver of the car was assessed and released on scene with no injuries.
    The incident is under investigation by the Orleans County Sheriff’s Office and New York State Police Commercial Vehicle
Enforcement Unit.

Man injured in collision with tractor-trailer today

(January 28, 2008) — KENDALL — A Rochester area man is in guarded condition at Strong Memorial Hospital after his six-wheel
flatbed truck collided with an 18-wheel tractor-trailer around 1 p.m. today, according to the Orleans County Sheriff’s Office.

Robert B. Horne, 65, was driving a 2000 GMC truck north on West Kendall Road when he failed to yield the right of way and drove
into the path of a 1990 Ford tractor-trailer driven by Scott L. Joy, 45, of Lyndonville, Orleans County.

Joy, who was driving east on Route 18, was taken to Medina Memorial Hospital where he is in stable condition.

Another vehicle, a 2002 four-door Oldsmobile being driven by Brandi M. Ferris, 17, of Kent, Orleans County, was heading west on
Route 18 and crashed into a guard rail on the north side of the road to avoid a collision with the two trucks. Ferris was not injured.

The incident is under investigation by the Orleans County Sheriff’s Office and New York State Police Commercial Vehicle
Enforcement Unit.
